WHAT THE SERIES IS
"Sovereign" is not frugal and it is not anti-software. It is the discipline of running a real business on systems you control — owned distribution instead of rented attention, owned tools instead of metered SaaS, owned hardware instead of metered tokens, owned audiences instead of platform impressions.
Every book in the series is one operator's receipts-first guide to a specific layer of that stack. Together, they are a curriculum, not a manifesto. Not anti-SaaS, not prepper, not crypto-libertarian, not theoretical. Just one working solopreneur showing the actual stack, the actual cost, the actual mistakes.
You are not an "entrepreneur" chasing a fantasy. You are an operator building a machine. This library is the manual.
VOL 1 — BUILD THE MACHINE
(Volume 1 — published / launching through 2026. Volume 2 underway: scale, distribution, and the audience layer.)
Nine books plus one free quickstart PDF. Read in order if you want the curriculum arc; pick any single book if you want the answer to a specific problem.
1. The Agent Army
How I Built 20 AI Employees — The Workforce I Couldn't Afford to Hire
The payoff book. Twenty-two named agents that replaced a $20K/month team for $260. The mental shift from "AI tool" to "AI employee." The 80/15/5 Three-Layer Stack. The complete roster — what each agent does, what it cost, what it replaced.
Read this if: You're an online-business owner under $20K/mo, doing every task yourself, and need help you can afford.

2. The Agent Operator's Manual
Write Instructions That Make AI Agents Actually Work Across Any Tool
The craft. The Agent Instruction Model (AIM) — six layers, eight named principles. The discipline of writing instructions clear enough that an agent cannot misinterpret them. The instruction file is the difference between an agent that works and one that doesn't.
Read this if: You've tried "just letting Claude do it" and gotten inconsistent output. You want the file that makes machines reliable.

3. Zero-Token Enterprise
Scale AI Beyond a Hobby Without the API Bill
The token-economics book. How to run a real operation on AI without the metered API bill scaling with you. Local models, batching, caching, routing — the architecture that lets agents work all night without burning a paycheck.
Read this if: Your AI bill is growing faster than your revenue and you suspect the answer is not "use it less."

4. The AI Delegation Framework
How to Manage, Audit, and Scale Your Agent Army Without Losing Your Mind
The management book. Once you have ten agents running, you are no longer a maker — you are a manager of machines. Routing, supervision, scorecards, accountability. How to know what your agents did while you slept and whether any of it was useful.
Read this if: You've built more than five agents and you can feel the chaos starting.

5. The Sovereign AI Stack
How to Match Your AI Setup to Your Actual Usage Without Wasting Money
The architecture book. Hardware → local AI → cloud → orchestration. The real cost ladder from $0 → $200 → owned-GPU. Real numbers, real benchmarks, real failure modes. The map you need before you commit to a token spend.
Read this if: You're spending $150+/month on AI APIs and want to know if "run it locally" actually pencils out.

6. The SaaS Purge
How Online Sellers, Creators, and Bloggers Cancel $600/Month in Subscriptions and Own Their Tools Instead
The easy-recommend book. A tractable audit-and-replace playbook that pays for itself in months. Not anti-SaaS — intentional SaaS. Which subscriptions to keep and which to cut, with the math worked.
Read this if: Your SaaS bill is the size of a part-time hire and half of it isn't earning its place.

7. The Social Proof Moat
How to Get Chosen When Buyers Use AI to Shop
The visibility book. ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini are now part of every buyer's purchase path. Your product is either cited in the answer or invisible. How to build the reviews, mentions, and structured signals that survive the AI-shopping shift.
Read this if: You sell anything online and you've noticed AI answers are showing up between you and your buyer.

8. Digital Real Estate
How to Own the Internet Property Nobody Can Take From You
The worldview book. Why owning beats renting, applied to every digital asset. The philosophical foundation everything else is built on. The property mindset, the platform-risk map, and the playbook for moving incrementally from rented attention to owned audience.
Read this if: You've watched a peer lose their account or revenue stream to a platform decision and thought "what now?"

9. The Build Phase
What Actually Compounds (and Why "Passive Income" Doesn't)
The honest book. Debunking the "make money while you sleep" marketing fantasy and naming what actually compounds in a real business. The book that disabuses readers of the dominant counter-narrative before they spend more money on a course.
Read this if: You've bought the dream and it hasn't delivered — and you want to understand what actually compounds.

TWO WAYS TO READ THE SERIES
Path 1 — Payoff → Philosophy (the commercial order, the one most readers prefer) Start with The Agent Army. See the system running. Then back-fill the foundation books — stack, SaaS, philosophy — to understand the mindset that makes it sustainable.
Path 2 — Philosophy → Payoff (the editorial order, for readers who want the worldview first) Start with Digital Real Estate (book 8 in the launch order, book 1 in the read order). Build the worldview. Then move into the implementation books, ending with The Agent Operator's Manual and the craft of instruction-writing.
Either order works. Pick the one that matches how you learn.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Pat is the founder of All Day I Eat Like a Shark, a Japanese food and tea media company spanning eight WordPress sites, a WooCommerce tea shop on Amazon, and a YouTube presence with 37,000 subscribers across two channels. He runs the entire operation on roughly $260 a month using twenty AI agents and a stubborn refusal to rent infrastructure he can own.
The Sovereign Entrepreneur series is the operating system behind that business — written by the operator, not a consultant.
