What's inside (3-bullet)
- The Passive-Active Spectrum — a 5-dimension scoring framework that replaces the useless passive-vs-active binary with a 0-100 score for any income stream. None of Pat's streams score above 84.
- The Build Phase chapter every other passive income book skips — the 2,500-5,000 hours of unrewarded work that sits below the waterline of every income report you have ever seen, with year-by-year timelines for content, digital products, e-commerce, and subscriptions.
- The honest 5-year playbook — what to build, what to refuse, and what to expect — written by an operator who runs 8 sites, a tea shop, 2 YouTube channels, and 22 AI agents on a software stack that costs about $260/month.
Frequently Asked
Q: Is this another "passive income exposed" rant, or does it actually give me a playbook?
Both, in that order. The first nine chapters dismantle every major income stream honestly — what each actually requires in hours, build time, capital, and ongoing maintenance. Chapter 10 then gives you the constructive five-year playbook, year by year, with specific things to build and specific things to refuse. The book is roughly 35% deconstruction and 65% playbook.
Q: Pat, you teach passive income systems. Aren't you part of the problem?
Less than 15% of my income comes from teaching about what I do. The other 85%+ comes from actually doing it — running the blog, the shop, the YouTube channel, the supplier relationships, the agents. I mention this on page two of the book because the passive income industry has a circular problem where most "income proof" turns out to be revenue from selling courses about passive income. I would rather you know up front that I am not in that loop. If this book disappeared tomorrow, 85% of my income would not notice.
Q: Who is this book NOT for?
If you are a venture-backed founder, an ad agency, or someone running a business that generates seven-figure annual revenue, this book is not for you — the math is calibrated for solopreneurs and small operators earning $0-$20K/month. If you want a motivational book, this is not it. If you want a "10x your revenue" book, this is not it. If you want a how-to manual for setting up WordPress, this is not it. Other books do those things. This is a truth-telling book for solopreneurs who have been burned by passive income marketing.
Q: How does this book relate to your other books?
This is Book 9 of The Sovereign Entrepreneur series — an ongoing entrepreneur's library, not a closed trilogy. Sibling titles teach you to own your platforms (Digital Real Estate), replace your SaaS where the math works (The SaaS Purge), build the AI stack underneath your operation (The Sovereign AI Stack), deploy the twenty-agent workforce that runs the operation (The Agent Army), and write the instruction files that make those agents reliable (The Agent Operator's Manual). Each stands alone. Together they are a curriculum. The recommended read order is on the series page below.
Q: Will the bonus pack work for me if I don't run my business the same way Pat does?
The worksheets are the same ones Pat uses, but the scoring frameworks (Passive-Active Spectrum, Revenue Floor, Build Phase Declaration) are niche-agnostic — they work for any income stream and any operator. The two files that are most Pat-specific (pats-actual-numbers-2026.md and 30-day-stop-buying-courses-plan.md) are calibration tools, not benchmarks — you use them to see what one operator's reality looks like, not to copy his numbers.
Q: I have already bought too many courses. Is this just another one?
This is a book. It costs $9.99 or $19.99 instead of $997 or $2,997. It does not have a Facebook group that goes silent within a year, a sales page with a countdown timer that resets when you refresh, or a "value stack" totaling $50,000 in fake bonuses. The bonus pack at the end is free, no email gate on the essentials. If you have bought too many courses, the bonus pack also includes a 30-Day Stop-Buying-Courses Plan and an 8-question Course-Buying Decision Filter to break the habit.

Final note from Pat
This book exists because somebody handed me an Amazon affiliate notification at 2 AM ten years ago and I spent the next decade trying to figure out what it actually meant. I learned the hard way that most of the marketing layer around what I was doing was distorted beyond recognition.
I wrote this book for the person I was at year two of that journey, when I was on my third paid course, my second Facebook group ghost town, and still hadn't earned my second hundred dollars from anything.
The dream sold to me wasn't real. The thing underneath the dream turned out to be much better than the thing I was chasing. This book is the receipts.
